—Michael Edson, Practice Director, Educational Publishing,

“The publishing industry’s only major conference and expo bringing publishing professionals together ... the only event concerned with how industry professionals can maintain productivity and quality, while creating profitable cash flows in the present and keeping an eye out for future opportunities and challenges.”
—Eugene G. Schwartz, Editor at Large,
ForeWord, 04.09.08

“It was GREAT! … [the Publishing Business Conference & Expo] was absolutely everything I could have hoped it would be. There were more sessions than I could possibly attend … covering the subjects at the forefront of what we’re doing our best to become better versed in: book distribution strategies, e-paper, new media marketing, successful book launches, inventory management, XML coding and metadata tagging, content management systems, shortening the content production cycle, and overarching trends in publishing (and more, so much more!). Plus, unlike being discussions directed by talking heads you’ve never heard of … there were really heavy hitting upper-level administrator types here from the likes of Columbia University Press, Oxford University Press, HarperCollins, Random House, Simon & Schuster, and Merriam-Webster (and more, so much more!). Plus, it was handy having all the types of vendors we’d conceivably use in one exhibit hall instead of dealing with them piecemeal one by one.”
—Mark Long, Publisher, TSTC Publishing,
Texas State Technical College

“Attending the Publishing conference and expo helped me make connections for future business development and provided some new contacts for my marketing department that didn’t even attend!”
—Joanne Carlos, Director of Business Development,

“Great information on upcoming technology. I’ll be back next year.”
—Kim Latreille, Group Director, Production,
St. Joseph Media (Toronto, Canada)

“As an independent publisher I appreciated the opportunity to meet directly with book printers and address my needs. I will be doing business with one of the companies I spoke with - probably by this July.”
—Dave Steadman, proprietor,
Spirited Living Publishing

“The expo presented new, unexpected possibilities. It is urging us to rethink the way we produce our products.”
—John Meyers, Manager,
Insurance Services Office

“A great place for meeting vendors you’d never learn about otherwise.
—B. Mikolajewska, co-Proprietor,
The Lintons Video Press

“Great way to meet useful service providers you’d never get to meet anywhere else.”
—Fred Linton, Emeritus,
Wesleyan University

“With the consolidation of major printers, it was beneficial to see so many mid-size printers that can serve our needs.
—Robert Schwalb, Production Manager, It’s About Time,
Herff Jones Education Division

“It was a great event! I was thrilled with the knowledge that I was able to attain along with some wonderful contacts.”
—Darcy Scott, Vice President,

“This conference brought myself and my associates up to speed rapidly on how to use technology that exists to create distribution and sales of our tites. Invaluable for publishing today and I plan on using everything we got!”

“The depth of the agenda was amazing! There were so many sessions that I wanted to attend that I couldn’t fit them all in.”

“I was particularly impressed with the presentations on e-books, considerations for the delivery platforms involved with deploying an e-book program, and the concerns that other publishers are having when it comes to making the bottom line justify the investment in e-books.”

“One of the best aspects of the conference, particuarly in the area of eMedia, are the real world application delivered by people “on the front lines” of emerging new media.”

“When I signed up for the IDEAlliance Proofing Summit, I was unaware at online registration the scope of the whole conference. Once I got there, I realized how much I would have benefited from the whole event.”

“The speakers are always knowledgeable. But so are the attendees. I gained knowledge just walking around the Expo or talking with my peers between sessions.”
